Dick and Rick Hoyt

Posted on November 25th, 2006 in Music, News, Normal Stuff, Videos by Jason House

Dick and Rick Hoyt are a father-and-son team from Massachusetts who together compete just about continuously in marathon races. And if they’re not in a marathon they are in a triathlon — that daunting, almost superhuman, combination of 26.2 miles of running, 112 miles of bicycling, and 2.4 miles of swimming. Together they have climbed mountains, and once trekked 3,735 miles across America. It’s a remarkable record of exertion — all the more so when you consider that Rick can’t walk or talk.

This kind of thing really touches my heart.

Happy Thanksgiving Everybody!

Posted on November 23rd, 2006 in Normal Stuff by Jason House

Well….I thought I would stop by the Chronicle here and leave you all a little holiday greeting.

This has been a good week for me! On Monday, I went to school as normal and then Monday night I went to my church to finish recording me playing the piano for a CD of my sister and a trio that she sings in. That was the last recording date so we stayed out a REALLY long time and I was terribly tired when we got home. The next morning mom comes in my room to wake me up for school, but I did not feel like going…..so, I stayed home and slept until about 2:30 in the EVENING!!!…LOL!
Me and a young married couple headed out that evening around 5 something headed for Alabama….we took a different route down into Louisiana and picked up one of the guy’s cousins to take her with us. Then we met my Aunt Denise Fisher somewhere in Alabama about 30 minutes from her house for her to pick me up, which was about 1 in morning. So I slept a lil and got up on Wednesday and then just fooled around the whole day and went back to sleep and then woke up and it was THANKSGIVING!!!!!!! WHEW!!! It seems like it has just slipped up on me really quick this year.

I have had a great day today…I went to some of my family’s house that I hadn’t seen in probably around 10 years and we had dinner (lunch)….more like an early supper. So we stayed there for awhile and watched a couple of ballgames….the Dallas Cowboys were like way ahead of Tampa Bay when I left…I don’t know how it turned out but I’m sure that Dallas won. As for my view of whom I wanted to win….I will leave you wondering. I do not keep up with sports so I really have NO clue as to what it’s all about….all I know is that Tony Romo was doing some playing tonight!!!!!

Well I guess that about sums up everything I need to say. I found a couple of interesting links while surfing the web. I went to http://thanksgiving.com/ and found some helpful tips about “Empowering Your Guests.”
Then I searched Google for “happy thanksgiving.” Here was the top result: http://www.theholidayspot.com/thanksgiving/.
– Just a cool little site for info about Thanksgiving.

I better quit ramblin!

Happy Thanksgiving to all!

What is going on right now!

Posted on November 11th, 2006 in Normal Stuff by Jason House

WOW! It has been awhile since that I have posted on here!

The election didn’t go so good here….but I did have fun poll watching.
Poll
watching is making sure nothing illegal goes on, checking off voters
names making sure all of your voters turn out, and also not saying a
WORD to any voter. It was horrible, my own great aunt
came in and spoke to me then patted me on the cheek and I couldn’t say
anything to her….I just looked at her and smiled. When one of the
election officials, with whom I could talk, informed this one lady that
I wasn’t able to speak…..she said, “Well, I’m glad you told me that! I
was having bad thoughts about that rude lil’ ole thing setting over
there.” I was appaled!!!….LOL!!!

Tonight, I went and saw “The Taming of the Shrew.” I got to see two
of my childhood friends that I haven’t seen in a LONG time….they both
were a part of the cast. It was at the Stilwell building at TC. It was
nice to be able to be back in a theater that I had performed at in my
past musical days.
Speaking of past musical days, I have been
thinking a lot about how that I miss being involved in the musical
activities of Texarkana. I used to be pretty famous for my talents as a
kid…..I slacked off of things when I quit taking piano lessons, but I
think I would like to get involved again. I am also thinking about
starting an acting career. I have done nothing big…..but I have had a
few lead rolls in some plays. If anybody has any tips, let me know.

I better quit ramblin’,
 Jason
